Need a bit of support?
Yacht Crew Support, Well-being and
Personal Development
Have you ever wished you could pick up the phone and talk to someone, in private, about what's going on on board and that person just got it?
I know your friends and family back home just don't get it. Most coaches, therapists and counsellors don’t either. Confiding in them would mean explaining many things about yacht life before you could get to the point of what you want to discuss.
But what if you could chat with someone who gets it? Someone who knows the yachting industry so well that they understand what life on board is like: the challenges, struggles, politics, hierarchies, loneliness and total exhaustion. They know all about the unique position that yachties find themselves in.
Imagine if that person was also a great listener, passionate about well-being and wellness, with a background in psychology, human behavior, and personal development. Someone who could help you find clarity and a new perspective and feel empowered to address your challenges head-on.

I'm Kirsti, an ex-yachtie with 12 years of experience in the industry and my fair share of notoriously difficult boats to work on. How did I not only survive but thrive? I balanced my yachtie life onboard with things that nourished me. Between jobs, you'd find me at yoga ashrams, meditation retreats, psychic and mediumship schools, and other self-help and personal development workshops and retreats. I also had my go-to hypnotherapist in Fort Lauderdale on my side. Seeing her welcoming face when I got back into town was always good.
I brought my yoga philosophy and mindfulness to my job on board. Can you imagine I tried to get one captain to agree to have a crew meeting every morning so the crew could start the day with laughing yoga? He wasn’t having any of it, but the point is, I brought what I was learning about self-help and personal development on board, and it got me through some tough times.
I started to thrive. And the more I developed new skills and developed myself as a person, the more I thrived and the more I loved my job. Now, I help yacht crew thrive in the industry, too.
Since leaving the industry, I attained an undergraduate degree in Psychology, followed by a master's degree in Consciousness, Spirituality, and Transpersonal Psychology. I integrate my academic background with practical vocational skills in coaching, mindfulness meditation, and yoga. I provide crew like you with a holistic approach to enhancing your psychological well-being onboard.
You can find out more about me here. And, if you’re thinking of getting out of the industry, you can read about my experiences transitioning from yachtie life to land life here.

I'm passionate about yacht crew well-being, mental and physical health, and personal development. But I'm not a clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist. My clients don't want to see a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist because they don't identify as having a mental illness. They just want a bit of extra support. And that's what they get from me, plus lots of great self-care tools, self-empowerment, personal development, deeper insights, focus, and clarity.
If you are concerned about your mental health and think you might have a mental illness, my services might not be enough. You might benefit from seeing a doctor or psychiatrist. If you need help locating an English-speaking professional to help with mental illness in the south of France, let me know, and I'll be glad to help.
Whether you're looking for ways of reducing stress and anxiety levels or investing in yourself as a person, I'm here to support you. Make me part of your support system so that you can learn to thrive in the superyacht industry.
I want you to love your job, love being on the high seas, and love seeing the world. Yachting is a unique opportunity. Where else do you see dolphins from the office window, right? But your sea-faring career won't last forever, so it's crucial that it's not overshadowed by negative thoughts and feelings of low mood.
You deserve to have an amazing career and an amazing time on board, even if you are just the crew. You are unique. And you deserve to live a life full of joy, happiness, meaning, and purpose. So let's get started.
